Meet Neal Bonrud

The Law Offices of Neal Bonrud PLLC is focused on the litigation of claims against insurance companies, especially claims involving bad faith and violations of the Washington Insurance Fair Conduct Act.

I was born in Auburn and grew up in Covington, Washington. Prior to graduating from Kent-Meridian High School, I was nominated to attend West Point by Senator Warren Magnuson and Congressman Don Bonker. I graduated from West Point in 1983 and proudly served as an officer in the US Army for over 5 years, including a tour at Fort Lewis (now Joint Base Lewis-McChord). After leaving the Army as a Captain, I attended law school at Arizona State University and then returned to Seattle to practice law starting in 1991.

I know the property insurance business not only from the legal side but from many years of personal experience handling commercial and residential property claims for insurance companies and as a hired consultant for other attorneys on insurance cases. When it comes to insurance claims, I know the business and how the industry handles claims.

My legal experience has been primarily in civil litigation, including bad faith litigation against insurance companies for denying or underpaying insurance claims. I have represented clients against insurance companies for denying coverage on commercial and residential property policies, accidental death policies, and shipping policies. Insurance companies not only deny claims that are covered but even more often, they underpay or delay payment on the claims that they do cover. I handle insurance cases throughout the State of Washington. It does not matter where my clients are located within the state, be it Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Everett, or anywhere from Bellingham to Walla Walla or Vancouver to Spokane.
